Stubborn fat can be tough to get rid of despite how hard you work in the gym or on dieting. Thankfully, with advances in technology, you don’t have to worry about liposuction (and all the dangers that come with it) being your only option. There are plenty of non-surgical options to help reduce fat and contour your body.
Both Cool Sculpting and Trusculpt ID work in slightly similar ways but have incredibly similar results. They’re both noninvasive procedures that permanently remove about 25% of the treated fat layer after one session. Common treatment areas are also typically the same – people get this procedure in their belly, thighs, and under their chin. Each one has its particulars, however, and it’s important to know which is the right choice for you.
Cool Sculpting uses cryo-focused hypothermia which eliminates fat by freezing it off. Each session can last between one and two hours depending on the size of the treatment area. During this time, clients can expect to feel pulling, tugging, pinching, tingling, or stinging because of the intense cold. Afterward, patients are red, swollen, and tender, and the area may be bruised and sensitive for a few days.
With Trusculpt ID, the fat melts away using heat technology. Monopolar radiofrequency, which is part of this treatment, is also used in other skin tightening procedures. Fat will disappear and the skin will tighten around the new area. The treatment takes about fifteen minutes, and patients report it feeling like a hot stone massage. As treatment progresses, the esthetician will continue to check in with the sensation, making sure pain is kept to a minimum. After treatment, the area will be warm and sensitive, but this should wear off in about an hour.
